The Longswamp Bed & Breakfast is located in the farmlands of eastern Pennsylvania in Mertztown, Pa. Less than eight miles from the inn is the Pool Wildlife Sanctuary which is set on 72 acres and offers thematic trails, nature exhibits and educational programs. Crystal Cave, a naturally formed cave located less than 11 miles away, offers informative underground tours and group tours that provide insight into geology and cave formation.
Several buildings constitute the Longswamp Bed & Breakfast, including the Main House, the Cottage and the Barn Suite. Hardwood floors, potted plants and well lit rooms accent the Main House. A courtyard spans the distance between the Main House and the Cottage. Complimentary full breakfasts are served every morning in the dining room. A meeting room is available and can accommodate up to 20 people. The living room provides a library, fireplace and sitting area.
Guestrooms at the Longswamp Bed & Breakfast are spread out among the Main House, Cottage and Barn Suite. The Main House offers 5 rooms which feature unique decor and private baths. The Cottage, once part of the Underground Railroad and later a general store and a post office, features three rooms. The suite on the first floor is decorated with a brick fireplace and hardwood and carpeted floors, and is furnished with a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and sink. A living room is available in the suite, and offers cable television and a day bed. The private Barn Suite features a bedroom, bathroom and living room, and is furnished with a television, microwave and mini refrigerator.
