Location. Hacienda Tayutic is located in Turrialba, Costa Rica, in the province of Cartago. The Sitio de Mata village church, with stained glass windows more than century old, sets on the grounds of the hacienda. The property produces coffee, macadamia nuts and cultivated organic brown sugar. Day trips include rafting on the Pacuare River, tours of the CATIE Plantations and Botanical Gardens, and tours of the Guayabo Archaeological Monument.
Features. The Hacienda Tayutic was built in the style of the true rural Colonial architecture of Costa Rica. The property offers English gardens, including a hedge labyrinth, latticework pergola with flowering vines and a reflecting pool. Historical paintings and artifacts are featured in the great room. Paths through the property's surrounding tropical forests feature art, sounds and traditions by local artists. The Hacienda Tayutic's restaurant specializes in traditional Costa Rican dishes with a unique flair. The property offers a meeting hall for up to 200 guests and event catering.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms offer designer bathrooms, satellite television and complimentary wireless Internet access. The rooms are equipped with coffeemakers and the Hacienda Tayutic's own brand of coffee.
