Location. The Sofitel Plaza Hotel is located in Xiamen, a coastal city in the Fujian province of China. It is 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from Xiamen international airport.
Hotel Features. The 29 story Sofitel Plaza Xiamen offers 390 rooms or suites. Amenities include a business center with secretarial services, fitness room and outdoor unheated swimming pool. The Touch day spa provides a range of body treatments in one of four private treatments rooms. Two restaurants and two bars cater for dining and entertainment. Caesars on 3 is a contemporary restaurant with an open kitchen, serving international cuisine with French and Spanish touches.
Guestrooms. The 390 guestrooms of the Sofitel Plaza Xiamen are decorated in an elegant, modern French style with large windows for natural light and neutral tones in soft furnishings. All rooms have cable/satellite televisions, high speed Internet access, air conditioning, minibars, in room safe deposit boxes, desks and direct dial phones with voice mail. Bathrooms have marble surfaces, telephones, radio and separate shower and bathtub.
Expert Tip. Gulangyu, also known as Piano Island, is a peaceful weekend destination with great views of the city. The island features many interesting Victorian European style buildings.
